8-17-2026 Newshound Guru Stephen We have had a very interesting and very exciting 24 hours with breaking news coming out of the country of Iraq. An Article broke saying the Communications Minister was on record saying Iraq is planning to change the currency…Iraq is not going to tell you if they’re going to revalue their currency ahead of time. It’s never going to happen. If you’re waiting for Iraq to come out and say, ‘Hey guys we’re going to revalue the currency on September 5th, go buy as much as you can.’ It’s never going to happen…It would be an economic blood bath for them…If [the communications minister] is publicly releasing this information guess what? The CBI is probably moving on a lot of big things…I’m expecting the CBI to make a statement within the next 24 to 72 hours supporting this statement from the communications minister. Read more…

It’s almost suggesting Iraq is going to be a sovereign nation as of October. Here’s a bad way that could be perceived… that Iraq might not be revaluing till the end of September allowing them to be sovereign in October. [Another way to look at this] Change the rate most likely around the second half of August, giving them all of September to do the 150+ laws and other things like banking reforms. Get all that approved, finalized, implemented through parliament, all ready to go, have it all done by September 30th…makes them sovereign October 1st. Read more…

They (CBI, IMF, World Bank, US Treasury) all know that once the currency is converted back to all lower denominations it must be followed by a revaluation. With the revaluation the currency must come back online (FOREX). The real nominal value must be recognized they call this the REER. She suspects that the powers controlling this are going to use the Iraqi dinar for other purposes too and so the REER rate must be very high. They are trying to secure this new rate with the economy. But the bulk of that is what’s outside the country of Iraq. Remember the dinar is not tradable so when it’s outside of Iraq, the central bank doesn’t give two craps about it. They don’t care because it’s not tradable, can’t be used for anything…The money outside of Iraq is what Iraq used to pay other countries back for all the efforts they helped them with…The United States has about half of their money supply…All [Iraq] cares about is the amount of dinar remaining inside of Iraq. It’s roughly about 20 to 40 trillion dinar. When the rate changes, they trim three zeros off that. The money supply will go from 20 to 40 trillion down to 20 to 40 billion. Read more…

However, we’re seeing economic reform, monetary reform, banking restructuring, financial restructuring. We are seeing so many exciting things that are all culminating and coming together, fingers crossed, for that glorious day where we can all exchange our Iraqi dinar into US dollars…In my last 15 years since I have been invested in the Iraqi dinar I have not seen this much movement happening. 8-8-2026 Newshound Guru Stephen If Iraq ever moved to a stronger exchange rate, which all the signs are pointing to, the average Iraqi citizens would likely benefit through greater purchasing power, lower cost of imported goods, more stable currency. That doesn’t mean all citizens in Iraq becomes millionaires overnight. But…since the Trump administration has gotten involved with them, we have a new prime minister who is getting rid of corruption, he’s signing big deals, it’s putting pressure on the HCL law…we have Starlink which is going to allow citizens to do online banking, we have all of these banking reforms being implemented right now. 8-5-2026 Newshound Guru Jeff Right now Iraq is claiming they only have a currency shortage to pay salaries. They can pay all their other bills. I searched the news for two hours a day. I have not seen one article saying they can’t pay any other bills…They’re able to pay all their other bills, just not salary payments. Think about that carefully…Why is it they can’t only pay salaries? Because in a new budget period with a pending rate change they would have to adjust salary pay scales and approve the budget. To approve the budget, the new currency value has to exist and be in place…This suggests to me the rate changing is most likely in August. Read more…

If the value of [a dinar] against the dollar is $3.00…The multiplier is three because it’s a $3.00 value. 25,000 becomes $75,000. 25 becomes $75. That’s outside Iraq. Inside Iraq…you have what dinar could purchase before the rate change and what dinar could purchase after the rate changes. Before the rate change a 25,000 dinar note could buy a bag of groceries. What happens when you take the sanctions off? It reinstates back to where it was. I went to his office in downtown…The question he asked first was, you’ve been a customer with us for a long time…along with owning all of these dinars? I was like, yeah, but you already know that…what’s the reason for the meeting?…He said, from our conversation you know we’re getting pretty close. He said, the main reason why I brought you here today is to show you. He turned his PC screen around and showed me a list of numbers and a list of names and codes. He said, do you know the code for the Iraq dinar? I said, yeah…the color of IQD was in red. The numbers did not start with a decimal point and there were no zeros on that screen for the IQD. She said no…I’ve had it for about a year but it just got a major update…The bank manager said, you know we’ve been itching to use this new software update. Why don’t you coming in tomorrow and test it out…The next day I came in with all my IQD and Vietnam dong…We ran through the IQD first. It liked everything except for two bills. She said the machine didn’t say they were counterfeit, so I’m not going to confiscate these two bills, but it’s probably because they’re worn or maybe a corner is bent or something…I said ok…let me see if it will take my smaller…250s, 500s, 1000s, 5000s and 10,000 bills.
