Even with it pegged versus a basket of currencies?] That’s a tough question… We all know that in order for a currency to have real value you need stability, security and a half way decent economy. Iraq doesn’t have very much of either right now. The next step would be to compare rates for those in the region and other oil producing countries, who’s currencies have lost value because of the price of oil. I want to draw attention to the part where he raised the value of the dinar from 3000 to $1 to 1200 to $1 gradually. I believe this is the same plan for when the market economy is launched. And it did not take long for the CBI to accomplish this. The final step will be to raise the dinar from the current 1182 to $1, to 1 dinar to $1 or about removing the zeros during the process. More importantly it shows it is possible without much fanfare. Also, it is important that Iraq never suffered from hyperinflation as some have stated. This is important because that is the basis for many who believe in a LOP theory. Iraq’s inflation peeked at or around 33% well below the requirement of over 50% to meet the definition of hyperinflation. These are good facts to keep in mind when we start to sway. 4-2-2016 Newshound Guru Tlar Shabs has been there all along in the background IMO. …most likely Shabibi will not come back but there is strong evidence that Shabibi has been advising and communicating with Keywords as an article of a week or so stated, keywords asked Shabibi for his help on getting certain legislation through. …that alone showed me that there is communication between with Shabibi and Keywords. I can also understand that until Maliki is gone or behind bars that there is good reason to keep any communication between Keywords and Shabs low key on Shabs part and to a certain extent Keywords part also. Keywords was a Maliki proxy. I am not so sure that Keywords will be removed. Either on his own or with help from somebody or some organization, he has been transforming everything nicely at the CBI in preparation to shake hands with the international banking system, including rebuilding the CBI website making it user friendly and interactive and transparent. I think he is either a pretty smart cookie or he is getting a lot of help considering he has had no formal training in banking let alone being in charge of a central bank. To what he owes his achievements so far or to who, it is still a remarkable achievement as to how well he has transformed the whole system in preparation to go international with their banks. 4-1-2016 Newshound Guru Aggiedad77 If I may chime in on this whole Abadi Cabinet thing for a short minute or two or three…I know he brought forth what appears to be a decent list of names today…decent enough that it seems Sadr is calling the dogs off for a short while and encouraging Parliament to give serious consideration to the list of names…that by itself is encouraging IMO…Also I think Parliament made a good move today after they heard from Abadi by dismissing for the rest of this day and reconvening on Saturday to talk further about Abadi’s proposal…I know…someone said they had 10 days…but really…why would they need so long…a day and half should be plenty of time to deal with names presented…So will we see some final resolution on Saturday… Read more…

I believe the Abadi government is trying to change the government as one issue and at the same time trying to fix the economy and open it up to the world as a separate issue. In other words I see the economy opening whether or not the political issue is resolved quickly. The IMF works with many article VIII countries that have political issues and yet their currency and economy roll on. Iraq has achieved transparency and banking wise is now qualified to enter Article VIII. I think we will see it very soon. So in my mind as interesting as the politics are, they won’t stop the opening of the Iraqi economy. Iraq’s banks are ready. Investors are lined up. 3-26-2016 Intel/Newshound Guru tman23 Recall the exact words by Shabibi…The project to lift the 3 zeros is a 3 step process with each step taking about 6 months…Recall the end of last February 2015 CBI Governor Alak gave the green light to begin the process to lift the 3 zeros… Recall articles in the past where GOI members called to delay the project and said start in June …where as Shabibi said; The time to lift the 3 zeros is at the start of the year and not the middle of a quarter or the middle of the year… So what we do know is that a 3 step plan consisting of 18 months would put the project in the 3 step as of right NOW… This weekend going into the 1st of April has HUGE POTENTIAL to see a change… IMO… With new loans becoming available end of month and end of month being the end of the first quarter and accounting rolled over… IMO… You should be very excited over this weekend…more excited than you ever been in during this speculation… Read more…

3-25-2016 Intel Guru SteveI I received some information from a couple contacts regarding the current news…The main focus was this past week some very strange things happening on the ISX. I guess the ISX was down for some time and when it came backup most of the numbers did not make sense. There seem to be some major trading by only a few companies. Also it was brought to my attention that most of the Iraqi bond purchases were to banks. This is very positive because banks have to have a minimum asset reserve to be able to participate in a global exchange of their currency (this was what several told me…). Another mention on the CBI site was the lack of some of the denominations that used to be listed. This is all looking very positive. Security seems to be getting under control. This came directly from someone in Iraq and is close to the action. ISIS is still a factor but not anywhere near what it was. I was also told that some major house cleaning regarding hundred of arrest warrants and many officials have already fled the country. Read more…
