11-26-2013 Newshound Guru Tlar The CBI had a feasibility study done in 2008. The purpose of this study was…to determine value. The results are…based on the exchange rate at the time they did very little from todays rate. They recommended that the CBI “open” their currency at 1.13 dinars to the US dollar which was based on the then rate. That was dropping three zeros as an event. The findings were that the CBI could support the dinar at that level. The also recommended that the CBI maintain and support that level for 3 years until the market accepted the new rate, and then let it float. Read more…

In concert now, all parties have agreed upon the implementation phase of currency reform to take place in 2014 as the new notes & coins will be introduced. The exact dates are being finalized but it appears likely before the elections. 11-21-2013 Intel Guru TD So Where are we REALLY? Just check the CBI website and that pretty much says it all. Keep in mind, no one can stop something that hasn’t even started. What is going on is political posturing by mainly M [Maliki] supporters to release at the best time to get the most bang for your buck which is re-election. And that schedule is spring of next year. It is primarily M’s backers who are holding up revisions of bills and additional laws passed & implemented. Every time it doesn’t happen when “supposed to” the Finance and Economic committees just go bonkers in the media. 11-19-2013 Newshound Guru Doc A second article is quoted as “”We expect that the first issuance will be in the value of 3 billion Iraqi dinars ($2.58 million),” said Abdul-Basit Turki Saeed.” This is referring to the issuance of domestic bonds in dinar. We will not dwell on the importance of this in that it is necessary monetary tool for interest rates and moves Iraq a little ways away from USD dependency. Our opinion is this is the initial test case. 3 billion dinar represents less than 0.01% of the money supply. With that it will take some time for the bond program to have a substantial impact on monetary controls. However, if the initial launch is successful it could become a significant factor fairly quickly. We see this as another piece of the infrastructure that will support a stable healthy currency in the long term. Read more…

11-16-2013 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG Fact: the Dinar is regularly referred to as “grossly undervalued” on Iraqi TV…there was an Iraqi economist speaking at this “UNCTAD” in Geneva – he made mention of an imminent radical “upsurge” in the value of the IQD in the near future. Iraq has been referred to by DC as “economically able to stand on their own”…with this comment and the possibility of a few troops going over – that is interesting to me…The President seems intent on getting Iran out from under these sanctions. 11-15-2013 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG Dr Shabibi had 3 tools in mind…1) auctions…2) tarriffs…3) and taxes…all to regulate the value of the currency. with not much economy – there isn’t much tax revenue…with Maliki stonewalling – no tarriffs…they were hamstrung by nothing getting done. [Bonds will replace auctions, right?] yes – only the flow goes the opposite direction.

11-15-2013 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG instead of regulating the value based on how much you sell the Dinar for…they will sell bonds and regulate the value based on how much they “allow you” for your currency on the way in…auctions = money going out, bond sales = money coming in…several BIG advantages…they are creating the “financing” to bolster the value of the Dinar…they are “regulating” the value of the Dinar…and they are taking in the 000 notes at the same time.
