Suspicious military movements - A US convoy of 50 vehicles heads from Ain al-Assad to HarirInformation/Anbar..
A security source in Anbar province revealed on Friday that a large American military convoy moved from Ain al-Assad Air Base towards the Kurdistan Region, in a move that coincides with “unprecedented” evacuation operations taking place at American bases in the region.

The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the convoy consists of more than 50 Humvees, which set off from Ain al-Assad base located in the Al-Baghdadi district of Hit (western Anbar), heading towards Harir base in Erbil province, northern Iraq.”

The source confirmed that “the convoy is moving under heavy air cover from American warplanes to provide the necessary protection for fear of it being targeted by armed forces.”

He pointed out that “these movements are not isolated, but rather fall within the framework of intensified military activity recently witnessed in the region, including the evacuation operations taking place at the Ain al-Assad base and the al-Tanf base in Syria. These are notable evacuations of troops and equipment towards the Harir base and Jordan. There has also been increased aerial activity, with sources observing unusual landings and takeoffs of US military cargo planes at the Ain al-Assad base, indicating arrangements for a security mission or a strategic repositioning, the details of which are not yet clear.”
