Fawaz Mohammed Al-Dulaimi, a leader in the Azm Alliance, confirmed on Friday that Sunni political forces are ready to vote for the prime minister candidate presented by the Coordination Framework, without any red lines around any agreed-upon figure.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the Sunni forces have shown complete flexibility in supporting the candidate of the Coordination Framework for the premiership,” noting that “this allows multiple figures from different political blocs to compete for the position, with the aim of achieving stability and forming a consensus government within the specified timeframe.”
He added that “this support includes all figures, including former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.”
He pointed out that “the Sunni forces’ position aims to facilitate the formation of the Iraqi government and overcome political obstacles by finding common ground for a candidate who enjoys majority support.”
