Former State of Law Coalition MP Rasoul Radhi confirmed that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi will not make sensitive and important economic decisions without the approval of the Coordination Framework, noting that the Framework has its own conditions for making such decisions.
Radhi told Al-Maalouma, “There is an agreement within the Coordination Framework that important and crucial decisions made by the Prime Minister must be made in consultation with the Framework and after obtaining its approval.”
He added, “The Framework’s approval of important decisions made by al-Zaidi was a fundamental condition presented to the Prime Minister, in addition to the Framework’s stipulation that al-Zaidi not form a new political bloc and not take any action on any issue affecting the Iraqi economy.” He explained that
“the country’s economy is sensitive and going through a critical phase at the moment, and therefore it is unlikely that al-Zaidi would bypass the Coordination Framework on sensitive issues, especially economic ones, as the Framework is the authority for making such decisions.”
