State of Law - Al-Halbousis tweet is political propaganda and Al-Maliki is the only candidate within the frameworkInformation/Baghdad…
Imran Karkoush, a member of the State of Law Coalition, described the recent proposals by Mohammed al-Halbousi, leader of the Progress Party, regarding the nomination of a “consensus” figure for prime minister as “political propaganda,” emphasizing that the Coordination Framework has already decided on a single candidate.
Karkoush told Al-Maalouma that “Halbousi’s attempts to impose dictates or dictate political paths for the forces within the Coordination Framework are aimed at achieving partisan gains.” He clarified that “determining the qualifications of the next prime minister is a matter for the largest bloc, in coordination with national partners, and should not be subject to imposition.”
He added that “the forces within the Coordination Framework are united and proceeding with their agreement to nominate Nouri al-Maliki for the premiership,” noting that “Maliki possesses the necessary acceptance and experience to manage the next phase and confront the current challenges.”
Karkoush explained that “the coordination framework will hold a crucial meeting in the near future to finalize the nomination file and officially announce its candidate,” noting that “this stage cannot tolerate media maneuvering, but rather requires realistic decisions that serve the public interest and expedite the formation of the government.”
