An informed source revealed on Thursday that the salaries of state employees for this month have entered the entitlement stage, but disbursement operations have not actually begun yet, attributing this to a lack of financial liquidity and a decline in revenues.
The source explained to Shafaq News Agency that the concerned authorities have begun disbursing the salaries of employees of self-financing departments, while the salaries of central financing employees are still awaiting disbursement procedures, despite the approaching end of this month.
He indicated that the delay in releasing salaries may continue during this month as in previous months, given the pressures on cash flow and public revenues.
The source confirmed that the date for disbursing salaries is linked to the availability of the necessary allocations and liquidity, indicating that the disbursement operations will take place successively once the required financial procedures are completed.
For several months, the disbursement of salaries to employees and retirees has been experiencing significant delays due to the financial crisis in Iraq, caused by a shortage of cash liquidity resulting from the decline in oil exports and the decrease in financial revenues generated from them, against the backdrop of regional events and the war between the United States and Iran.
