Today, Saturday, Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, a member of the Sovereignty Alliance, accused America of planning to strike the Iraqi economy and create chaos in it by manipulating the dollar and influencing the working mechanism of the Central Bank.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma Agency that “officials in the US administration threatened to close the Central Bank if it did not comply with US instructions, which is a threat to strike the country’s economy and cause it to collapse.”
He explained that “closing the Central Bank will cause great confusion in the country’s economy and chaos in import operations and meeting the country’s external needs, in addition to its negative impact on the citizen.”
He expressed his belief that this American threat comes against the backdrop of Iraq’s demand for the departure of its forces.
