Source: Washington plans to reposition its forces in Iraq

A responsible source in Anbar province revealed on Saturday that the US intends to redeploy its forces in Iraq following the recent aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The source told Al-Maalomah, “Security leaders in Anbar indicated the existence of a plan to redeploy US forces at Ain al-Assad Air Base in the al-Baghdadi district of Hit, west of Anbar, in addition to returning to a number of bases that had been previously evacuated.”
The source explained that “US forces are seeking to redraw the map of their presence in Iraq, coinciding with field operations that included conducting ground reconnaissance operations in the desert areas of Haditha towards the desert of Salah al-Din province.”
He pointed out that “the withdrawal of US forces from some locations, including Ain al-Assad Air Base, was a temporary measure in anticipation of the possibility of them being subjected to missile attacks during their aggression against Iran.”
