An informed source revealed on Monday that those holding senior positions in the Ministry of Finance and its affiliated departments and banks remain in their positions, indicating that a number of general managers and special grade holders have been in their positions for years, despite some of them exceeding the legally prescribed periods.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that some officials have spent more than four years in their positions, while some of them hold two positions at the same time, which raises questions about the extent to which this is consistent with the applicable legal and administrative controls and conditions.
He added that the same names are still managing a number of key departments in the Ministry of Finance and its affiliated bodies, at a time when the ministry has not witnessed administrative changes similar to what happened in some other ministries and government agencies.
The source indicated that there are political pressures preventing changes in some senior administrative positions, as well as the continued assignment of some individuals despite concerns about their level of competence and experience in their fields of work.
He concluded that a number of departments run by these officials still rely on traditional and routine work methods, and have not witnessed the required development in the level of administrative performance and services provided.
