Shafaq News/ The Saudi Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, Majid Al-Qasabi, confirmed on Sunday that the council seeks to remove everything that opposes encouraging investment and obstructing businessmen to expand horizons of cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Qasabi said in a statement to the Saudi News Agency, followed by Shafak News Agency, on the occasion of the Saudi-Iraqi Business Forum in Riyadh, that the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council seeks to remove all obstacles to encourage investment, provide an opportunity for businessmen to learn about the advantages of the commercial and investment sectors, and adopt effective means that contribute In developing border areas and stimulating promising investment opportunities.
And he indicated that the Saudi-Iraqi relations, in light of the careful follow-up by the leadership of the two countries, “are at their best and are witnessing a growth worthy of the history that unites them and the future that awaits them.”
He pointed out that the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council “enhances communication at the strategic level, deepens mutual political trust, and opens new horizons of cooperation in various fields, including economic, development, security, investment, tourism, cultural, media and others.”
Al-Qasabi pointed out to “the strength of relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Iraqi Republic, and that the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples are one, united by historical ties, kinship ties, neighborhood, blood and a common destiny.”
He explained that “the leadership of the two brotherly countries is keen to strengthen relations in various fields, invest all capabilities and provide and develop opportunities for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.”
It is noteworthy that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Iraq amounted to 17.7 billion riyals during the past five years, and among the most prominent joint projects between the two countries is cooperation in the sectors and activities of energy, petrochemical industries, transportation, logistics, irrigation systems, agricultural equipment, food industry, contracting sector and real estate development.
