Sadiqoun - Re-nominating the rejected ministers is a flawed move and the cabinet will be finalized after the Eid holidayInformation / Special..
MP Mohammed Karim, from the Sadiqun bloc, revealed today, Tuesday, that there is a political agreement stipulating the completion of the ministerial cabinet of Prime Minister Ali al-Zidi’s government after the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Karim told Al-Maalouma that “the political forces are moving towards passing the remaining ministerial portfolios within Parliament,” describing “the insistence of some parties on putting forward the same names that did not gain confidence in the previous session as a shameful matter.”

He added, “Parliament did not grant confidence to these names before the holiday, so how will it grant it to them after the holiday?” stressing that “Iraq cannot stand helpless in the face of the emergence of new talents who can be appointed as ministers.”

Karim called on political blocs to “look for alternatives that enjoy the confidence of Parliament and political forces,” noting that “parties should give themselves more space to put forward new names and increase the options for candidates for ministerial portfolios, in order to give the opportunity to the largest possible number.”

Regarding talk of forming alliances parallel to the coordination framework, Karim considered that “this proposal is unhealthy, because it will lead to weakening the political system and increasing the severity of disputes and tensions,” indicating that “the leaders of the framework are in agreement, and differences of opinion do not spoil the friendship.”

Political forces registered their reservations about the way Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi managed the session to grant confidence to al-Zidi’s government, accusing him of deliberately changing the established procedures within Parliament, particularly the mechanisms for voting on ministerial appointments.
