Representative of Al-Fath Hamid Al-Moussawi: The government did not keep its promise to the citizen after raising the dollar exchange rate

A member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Investment, Hamid Al-Moussawi, confirmed on Sunday that the government did not abide by its promises it made after raising the dollar exchange rate in the local markets, pointing out that many of the revenues were not used properly, which caused suffering, especially for the oil-producing governorates.
Al-Moussawi said in a press statement that “the government’s move towards challenging the petrodollar fund will deprive the oil-producing governorates of great revenues that can advance the living, economic and service reality of these governorates.”
He added, “The government has abandoned its promises with regard to supporting the poor, especially as it invoked that raising the dollar exchange rate would be matched by support for these segments through the ration card items and social welfare.”
And Al-Moussawi, “what the government promised after raising the dollar exchange rate has never been implemented, and the citizen is still suffering because of the failure to fulfill the promises made by the government.”
