MP Nasser al-Awadi, from the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, revealed today, Wednesday, the date on which the Coordination Framework will finalize its prime ministerial candidate, confirming that Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is the frontrunner for the position.
Al-Awadi told the Information Agency that “the forces of the Coordination Framework will hold a crucial meeting today to put the final touches on the selection of the new prime minister,” indicating that “the atmosphere within the Framework strongly leans towards finalizing the nomination to end the political deadlock.”
He added that “al-Sudani is the most likely candidate and the closest to assuming the role in the next phase, given his internal acceptance and the consensus among most of the Framework’s forces,” noting that “the anticipated meeting will lead to the official announcement of the name to proceed with the government formation process.”
He explained that “the current phase requires swift action and the formation of a strong government capable of addressing service and economic challenges,” pointing out that “the Framework is determined to finalize this matter within the next few hours to ensure the stability of the political process.”
