Reconstruction and Development reveals when the Popular Mobilization Forces law will reach Parliament

MP Diaa al-Zidi, from the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, announced on Sunday that the draft law on the Popular Mobilization Forces will reach the House of Representatives this week, while calling on armed factions not affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces to hand over their weapons and submit to the authority of the state.
Al-Zaydi said during a press conference held in the parliament building and attended by a correspondent from Shafaq News Agency, that “the law on service and retirement for the Popular Mobilization Forces is one of the important laws, and the parliament will work on reading and approving it during the coming period.”
He added that “the Popular Mobilization Forces are a security institution under the authority of the state and have their own special law,” calling on “armed factions not affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces to hand over their weapons, and for all brigades to be under the authority of the state.”
A few days ago, Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi confirmed that the Popular Mobilization Forces enjoy the attention and care of the government, which will proceed with submitting the Popular Mobilization Forces Law for approval, as it is part of the formations and branches of the armed forces.
