MP Mohammed Qutaiba confirmed on Friday that five pressing factors necessitate the success of tomorrow’s session dedicated to electing the president of the republic.
Qutaiba told Al-Maalouma, “Tomorrow’s parliamentary session is dedicated to electing the president of the republic, as this is a crucial step within the constitutional framework, leading to the appointment of the candidate of the largest bloc to form the cabinet.” He pointed out that “delaying this entitlement for several months raises many questions about the political landscape, which necessitates adherence to constitutional procedures.”
He added, “There are five factors pushing for the success of tomorrow’s session, most notably the nature of the current challenges facing the country, particularly the financial, economic, and security challenges, given the tension in the Middle East region.” He explained that “the country needs a fully empowered government to address all the outstanding issues.”
He pointed to “the importance of proceeding with the approval of the 2026 budget and finding solutions to its issues, along with other outstanding matters,” emphasizing that “many political forces have pledged to attend and participate in order to resolve this crucial matter.”
Qutaiba concluded by saying that “tomorrow’s session will answer many of the public’s questions,” expressing his support for a successful session that will result in the election of a president.
