Reuters reported on Wednesday that Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed in Muscat the possibility of holding talks between Iran, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Iraq regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
The agency quoted a source as saying that the talks between Iran, the Gulf states, and Iraq regarding Hormuz are separate from the talks between Iran and the United States.
In this context, Oman TV reported that the Prime Minister of Qatar and the Sultan of Oman discussed mediation between Washington and Tehran.
Mediators announced last Sunday the conclusion of the first round of talks between senior US and Iranian officials in Switzerland, and the development of a roadmap aimed at reaching a final agreement within 60 days, with technical talks continuing in the coming days.
