The Secretary-General of the October 25 Movement, Talal Al-Hariri, accused, on Thursday, the Iranian intelligence services and their arms in Iraq of targeting power towers and stations, indicating that there is an Iranian fear that Iraq will evade the excessive dependence on Iranian energy.
Hariri said in a statement to “Tigris” that “the simultaneous targeting of power stations and electrical transmission towers in Iraq with the broadcast of propaganda for the bombing of Jurf al-Sakhar reveals Iran’s involvement in the attacks.”
He added, “The data indicate that Iran’s proxies have targeted those stations to prevent Iraq from reducing its dependence on Iranian energy while Baghdad reduces Iranian gas.”
He pointed out that “the psychological war that Iran is practicing against the Iraqi citizen has become clear and threatens the economic interests of the country to prevent him from reaching solutions or relying on electricity from Turkey or the Gulf.”
