Shafaq News/ The Iraqi politician, former MP Mithal Al-Alusi, warned today, Thursday, of a new Iranian bombing of other Iraqi cities after the recent bombing of the city of Erbil, under the pretext of the presence of the “Israeli Mossad”.
Al-Alusi told Shafaq News Agency, “The silence of the Iraqi government towards the Iranian bombardment of the city of Erbil, and contentment with statements of condemnation and rejection, and failure to take real measures through international action against this aggression that violated Iraq’s sovereignty and threatened its security and stability, will push Tehran to commit more such operations.” aggression against Iraq and the Iraqis.
And he indicated that “Tehran may persist with these aggressive acts against Iraq and the Iraqis,” suggesting that the Iranians would “carry out bombing operations even on the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, under the pretext of the presence of the Mossad in specific headquarters and in concerned areas, and perhaps the matter will expand to other provinces.”
Al-Alusi stressed, “The Iraqi government is required to take real action against this aggression,” stressing that “there must be a firm international position towards Tehran.”
Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, was attacked (on Saturday night, Sunday, March 13th), by 12 “long-range” ballistic missiles, which were launched from outside the Iraqi borders, and landed in the vicinity of the American consulate and Kurdistan 24 station in the Salah al-Din resort, which resulted in damages. Physically in buildings and homes, while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard “officially” claimed this attack, claiming that there was an Israeli base.
The Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers confirmed that the site targeted by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards is a civilian, and not an Israeli base, as it claims.
The next day, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi, and informed him of its protest against the targeting of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
