Political analyst - The courts decision on oil in the region weakened the governments chances of the second termPolitical analyst Muhammad Al-Saadi said that the Federal Court’s decision regarding oil exports in the region has weakened the government’s chances of obtaining a second term, pointing out that the tripartite alliance may not last long as a result of ruling decisions by the Federal.

Al-Saadi told Al-Maalouma, “The tendency of some political parties to support the second term of the government has become weak, as a result of the enforceable Federal Court decision to investigate the oil file in the region, as the current government lost Kurdistan’s support for it by obtaining the mandate again.”

He added, “The data indicate that the tripartite alliance supports Al-Kazemi’s assumption of a second term, but this alliance is threatened with division, especially since the court’s decision makes it imperative for the government to take measures that the regional government does not desire, which will create a gap between supporters of the second term and the parties allied with them in Kurdistan.”

And he indicated that “the politicization of the court’s decision by some Kurdish parties may have a negative impact on those parties, as judicial measures can be taken against them as a result of an attempt to politicize the issue.”
