The office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, announced on Thursday that a crucial meeting would be held in his office with the heads of the parliamentary blocs prior to the start of the session to vote on granting confidence to the new government.
The office said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that “a meeting was held in the office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, which included the Speaker of Parliament and a number of heads of parliamentary blocs.”
He added that “the meeting aims to put the final touches before the session to vote on the ministerial program and grant confidence to the new government.”
The Iraqi parliament is scheduled to vote on Thursday evening on the ministerial cabinet of the new government headed by al-Zidi.
