The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, on Wednesday, that there are no alternative solutions in case the approval of the 2021 budget is delayed, indicating that the salaries of employees for the month of January are subject to the budget.
Committee member Naji Al-Saeedi said, according to the official agency, that “the approval of the budget should be before the end of next month, in order to secure employees’ salaries for the month of January 2021.”
He added, “Failure to send the budget will cause a financial problem in securing salaries, so we hope that the government and the Ministry of Finance will send it during the current month, so that the House of Representatives bears its responsibility in approving it.”
Earlier, the Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed its need for 45 days to audit the draft federal budget law for the year 2021.
The Cabinet allocated its next session to discuss the draft 2021 budget law.
