The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, confirmed, on Sunday, that the budget for next year will be approved quickly, indicating that the priority will be to ensure the fair distribution of financial allocations between cities according to the percentage of deprivation
Al-Kaabi said, in a statement on the sidelines of a joint meeting with the heads of the administrative units of the provinces, that “these meetings that bring together the committees concerned with the governors are working to expedite the solution of the problems that cities suffer from, especially the service ones, and here the meeting will be held periodically, especially since the provincial administration It is concerned now with raising the annual budget without the provincial councils, directing the Parliamentary Regions Committee to organize field visits to all Iraqi provinces, and that the participation of the aforementioned committee, along with the finance and services committees, has a positive impact to find radical solutions to the problems facing the administrative units .
He continued that “the 2021 budget is a top priority for discussion in the meeting to increase the governor’s experience in preparing and sending the budget, and here next year’s budget will be faster for approval than its predecessors, and we must also discuss the file of the governorates that have suffered from deprivation in the number of projects completed in them due to many conditions they have suffered from during the past period. We must guarantee its right and equality with the rest of the provinces . ”
The meeting resulted in several recommendations, the most important of which is “approaching all relevant ministries and departments regarding expediting the implementation of lagging projects, especially those that have achieved high achievement rates that exceeded 70%, and resolving all ministerial projects in the governorates, either by completing them or authorizing the governorates to do so, and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, on the need to accelerate the launch of approved financial allocations. Not to delay it, and the need for the governorate to have an important role in the file of international grants and aid and to supervise them ”.
