Parliament - Any agreement between Baghdad and another country must be voted on by MPsA member of the Foreign Relations Committee, Amer Al-Fayez, explained today, Wednesday, that any agreement concluded between the Iraqi government and the government of another country must be voted on in Parliament to give it legitimacy, noting that the Iraqi-Chinese agreement “has gone with the wind .”

Al-Fayez said, “The visit of dismissed Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to China, accompanied by a large ministerial delegation, and all agreements went in the wind after the arrival of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and were considered null .”

He added that “the agreements between Iraq and all countries must be voted on within Parliament, according to the law and the system of the Iraqi state .”

He stressed that “governments commit to not canceling any international agreement as soon as a new government comes and respect the decisions of the coming governments, meaning that no one comes after Al-Kazemi to cancel what was agreed upon, without consulting and taking the Parliament’s opinion and studying the matter, especially since those cancellations cause International problems . ”
