Global oil prices fell on Monday following the conclusion of the first round of high-level talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland, amid signs of progress in understandings related to the energy sector and Iranian oil exports, coinciding with Iraq’s announcement of plans to increase its crude production.
Brent crude fell $1.53, or 1.9%, to $79.04 a barrel, after earlier reaching $82.30. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was at $76.53 a barrel, while the most actively traded August contract slipped to $75.30.
