Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed Khudair al-Abadi confirmed on Tuesday that Iraq’s oil exports have recovered after falling to record lows during a period of escalating security and military tensions in the region, while stressing that the country will not experience a fuel shortage crisis again in the future.

This came during his chairmanship of the crisis cell meeting to discuss oil production, export, and the production and processing of oil derivatives, in the presence of the ministry’s undersecretaries, advisors, and general managers of the ministry’s companies and departments.

The Ministry of Oil stated in an official statement that Al-Abadi stressed during the meeting the need to monitor the stability and smooth supply of gasoline to citizens by the relevant general managers, stressing that no disruption or shortage in the supply operations should be allowed in the future, and the need to monitor consumption and actual needs.

The minister pointed to the importance of mobilizing all efforts and capabilities to complete projects to sustain production and increase its rates to support the national economy, adding that export operations have recovered in Iraq and reached important stages, despite the crises in the surrounding region.

The meeting discussed the topics on the agenda in order to make important decisions regarding them, according to a statement from the Ministry of Oil.
