A member of the State of Law Coalition, Arif al-Hamami, predicted on Saturday that the remaining ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government would be finalized this week, noting that a series of important meetings would be held within the next 72 hours.
Al-Hamami explained to Al-Maalouma that “important meetings will be held within the next 72 hours, focusing on finalizing understandings between the political forces, particularly between the Coordination Framework and other political currents, in order to resolve the issue of candidates for nine ministerial portfolios.” He anticipated that “a date will be set this week for a parliamentary session to vote on the ministerial candidates, especially those for the security ministries.”
He added that “the agreement has reached important stages, and voting on the candidates for the remaining portfolios is crucial, especially since completing this process means supporting the government program, given the important and sensitive issues in the coming period.”
