The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government Nechirvan Barzani for his government’s readiness to put the issue of the export of oil under the supervision and control of the United Nations, in order to reach a solution to the outstanding problems between Baghdad and Erbil.
This came during a meeting of the German Ambassador to Iraq Aghard Bruce and his accompanying delegation today Wednesday, 07/29/2015, the capital of Kurdistan in Irbil province.
A press release said the prime minister that “Bruce expressed his happiness to visit the Kurdistan Region, and talked about the political situation in Iraq in general and the problems between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, wishing to address the problems and obstacles through dialogue and mutual understanding, and described the federal system of government in Iraq, the best system.”
The Bruce on “the continuation of Germany in supporting and assisting the Peshmerga forces in the war against al-Daash terrorist, also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the people and Government, who Kurdistan region despite the heavy financial burden on their shoulders, had received such a large number of refugees and displaced persons fleeing from the grip of terrorism and provided them with a good main needs, in addition to the provision of accommodation. ”
For his part, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of the Territory’s desire to resolve the problems and obstacles with the Federal Government of Iraq through dialogue and negotiations, also expressed his willingness to visit Baghdad to discuss ways to address these problems, especially with regard to the budget and file oil. ”
Nechirvan Barzani expressed “the readiness of the Kurdistan Regional Government to accept the international community and the United Nations to monitor the transparency and the question of the Kurdistan Region oil export abroad,” adding that they went to Baghdad in 2003, in order to build a new Iraq, but unfortunately this did not happen.
With regard to the Kurdistan Region relations with the countries of the region and the world, Nechirvan Barzani reiterated that the Kurdistan Region is looking forward to better relations with neighboring countries and the world, on the basis of common interests.
