The professor in the seminary in Najaf, His Eminence Sayyid Rashid Al-Husseini, said that it is not permissible to have mercy on the unjust tyrant Saddam, under any excuse or pretext.
In answering the question of one of the contacting brothers, Al-Husseini said that most of the Iraqi society is ignorant of what Saddam’s regime was doing against the people of crimes, torture and injustices, he and his children, so they seek mercy on him without knowing.
His Eminence added that the current Islamic media institutions, including them, are very remiss and did not reveal to society the crimes of the repressive Saddam regime and what his son Uday was doing when he kidnapped married women from the hands of their husbands and killed husbands and other crimes.
His Eminence concluded that he who has mercy on an oppressor will naturally be resurrected with him.
