MP: The money recovery law represents a new beginning in the fight against corruption

Member of Parliament, MP Mohammed Karim, affirmed on Saturday that the passage of the Asset Recovery Law is among the most important laws that will define the mechanism for managing public funds. He indicated that it will represent a new starting point for empowering the judiciary and the Integrity Commission in pursuing corrupt individuals.
Karim stated to the Information Agency, “This law is of paramount importance as it allows for precise and rigorous administrative handling of the inflated wealth of those holding positions of authority and responsibility in the state, in addition to facilitating the procedures for bringing those wanted by the judiciary to justice.”
He added, “The new legislation will directly contribute to returning smuggled and looted corruption funds to the state treasury according to sound legal mechanisms, which will undermine corruption operations and close loopholes for those who manipulate public funds.”
It is worth noting that the Council of Ministers sent the Asset Recovery and Proceeds of Corruption Law to Parliament for its approval.
