MP: Sending budget tables is linked to amending the article related to regional oil

Former member of the Finance Committee, Abdul Hadi Al-Saadawi, confirmed on Sunday that the approval of the budget schedules for the current year is linked to the approval of the amendment sent by the government regarding Article 12 of the budget for the region’s oil or not.
Al-Sadawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The three-year budget is a planning budget and must be reviewed annually in accordance with what is stipulated in the Public Administration Law, which gave the government and parliament the authority to vote on it annually and to make changes and transfer funds annually in accordance with what serves the public interest,” indicating that “the change in schedules and transfer of funds will be minor.”
He added, “The delay in sending the budget tables for the current year is linked to the approval of the amendment to Article 12A sent by the government regarding the region’s oil, or its non-approval, due to its impact on changing the tables.”
Al-Sadawi called on Parliament to “resolve the issue as soon as possible so that the funds allocated for the current year’s projects can be released.”
The House of Representatives postponed discussing and voting on the government’s proposal to amend Article 12A of the three-year general budget, which was included in the agenda of the previous session.
