MP Duha Laibi Kazem, from the Coordination Framework, ruled out today, Thursday, the possibility of the House of Representatives holding a session after the Eid al-Adha holiday to vote on completing the cabinet, attributing this to the travel of a large number of MPs outside the country and the performance of Hajj rituals by some of them.
Kazem told Al-Maalomah that “the House of Representatives’ holiday will begin on June 1st and extend beyond Eid al-Adha,” indicating that “the first task for Parliament after resuming its sessions will be voting on the remaining ministers in Al-Zidi’s government, if their names are submitted, but this may be delayed due to the absence of some MPs.”
She added, commenting on the repercussions of the confidence vote session, that “differences in viewpoints within any political alliance are normal, especially during the sensitive stages that accompany the formation of governments or confidence vote sessions.”
The representative of the framework stressed “the need to prioritize the national interest and place it at the forefront of priorities and above all considerations,” noting that “the coordinating framework includes multiple forces and each party has its own vision, but everyone realizes the importance of maintaining political stability and supporting the work of state institutions.”
She explained that “what happened during the confidence vote session and the events that accompanied it needs a calm and responsible review to ensure that no confusion is repeated in the future, with a commitment to dialogue and understanding to address any differences.”
The Coordination Framework decided during its meeting yesterday, Wednesday, to proceed with completing the cabinet after the Eid al-Adha holiday, while calling on security agencies to complete ongoing investigations and take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of Iraq’s security and sovereignty.
