MP Dhikra al-Rudaini confirmed on Monday that the continued procrastination in resolving the presidential issue is leading to a complete paralysis of constitutional processes and the formation of the new government, warning of the repercussions of this delay on national entitlements.
Al-Rudaini told the Information Agency that “political disagreements over the presidency have become an obstacle to proceeding with the next legal steps,” explaining that “Kurdish forces are required today, more than ever, to present their candidate to Parliament without further delay to end the deadlock.”
She added that “the current stage requires prioritizing the supreme national interest over narrow partisan interests,” noting that “obstructing constitutional processes negatively impacts the security and economic situation in the country and delays the passage of vital laws.”
Al-Rudaini indicated that “Parliament is awaiting Kurdish consensus to resolve this issue and move to the stage of tasking the candidate of the largest bloc with forming the cabinet,” stressing that “the Iraqi public can no longer tolerate further procrastination in resolving crucial issues.”
