A responsible source in Sulaimaniyah Governorate revealed today, Thursday, that there are movements to redeploy US forces in Baghdad, within the Joint Operations Command, with the aim of resuming their operations.
The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “US forces intend to redeploy a portion of their forces within the Joint Operations Command in Baghdad to resume their operational duties,” noting that “the details regarding the mechanism of the new deployment or the nature of the tasks are not yet clear.”
He added that “the redeployment process coincides with internal political and security preparations, including preparations for holding sessions related to the formation of the new government,” indicating that “technical and logistical preparations are underway for the redeployment,” without disclosing the motives for this step or its full scope, especially after the reduction of the US presence in Baghdad in recent periods.
