Mounis reveals the construction of mosques to spread deviant ideas in Abu Ghraib and the Baghdad belt

The head of the Rights Movement, Hussein Mounis, revealed on Saturday that 600 mosques have recently been built in the Abu Ghraib district and the Baghdad belt, to be used for spreading deviant ideologies.
Mounis stated in a post on the X platform, which was monitored by the Information Agency, that “these mosques, whose presence also extends to the western provinces, are being exploited to spread the Madkhali movement within an organized project intended to distort established Islamic schools of thought and produce deviant intellectual trends and figures.”
He added that “the seriousness of this expansion necessitates urgent security and intelligence action to uncover the sources of support and funding, and to nip this project in the bud before its scope widens and its danger intensifies, at which point it will be too late.”
It is worth noting that the name of the Salafist “Madkhali” movement became prominent at the popular and political levels in Iraq following the death of Sheikh Abdul Sattar al-Qarghouli, the imam and preacher of the Karim al-Nasser Mosque in the al-Dora district of southern Baghdad. The movement was accused of involvement in the incident, and warnings were issued about its expanding influence within mosques through connections with political entities.
