Informed sources revealed on Tuesday that the releases from the Mosul Dam into the Tigris River basin have remained stable for the third consecutive day, denying reports that the releases had been increased to 800 cubic meters per second.
The sources explained to Al-Maalomah that “the releases from the Mosul Dam into the Tigris River basin have remained stable for the third consecutive day at 600 cubic meters per second,” denying “reports of an increase to 800 cubic meters per second.”
They clarified that “determining the level of increasing or decreasing the releases depends on several factors, most notably the rate of water inflows from Turkey and the dam’s reservoir level,” noting that “this is what informs the decision taken.”
The sources indicated that “the releases are still the highest compared to the same period last year, especially since the dam’s reservoir has reached its best level in five years,” emphasizing that “the possibility of increasing or decreasing the releases remains contingent on the influencing factors.”
