The Ministry of Oil confirmed on Saturday that it will resume oil exports from all fields within the next few days. It indicated that expediting exports will foster stability and meet the demand for domestic gas. The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Oil, Sahib Bazoun, told the official news agency, “We have contacted tankers and major companies to contract for oil exports, and the door is open to all companies.” He explained, “We will resume oil exports within the next few days, and all fields are ready for export.” He added, “Attention will continue to be given to other export outlets to diversify oil and fuel oil exports within a few days, because expediting the export process will foster stability, generate revenue for the state, bolster domestic production of petroleum products, and meet the local market’s needs for liquefied and dry gas to sustain the operation of power plants.”
The Ministry of Transport had previously announced that Basra ports had received a giant tanker to load two million barrels of Iraqi oil for the first time since the announcement of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
