Masoud Barzani - The crisis will end and the blockage will end if the political parties are certain of the independence of their willShafaq News/ The Kurdish leader, Massoud Barzani, said Wednesday, that the crisis will ease and the blockage will be removed if the political parties are certain of the independence of their will.

Masoud Barzani wrote a tweet through his official account on Twitter, in which he said, “When the political parties are certain of the independence of their will and national decision, then the crisis will ease and the political blockage will be removed.”

In the latest political development, the comprehensive coordinating framework of all Shiite political forces, with the exception of the Sadrist bloc led by Muqtada al-Sadr, stressed (the day before yesterday, Monday), the need to proceed with putting forward a “road map” to bring about a breakthrough in the political process and the formation of the new government.

This came during a meeting held by the coordination framework, with its allies (the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) and (the Alliance of Resolve), in the office of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki.

On March 31, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, set a forty-day deadline for what is known as the blocking third consisting of the coordination framework and allied deputies, to form a government independent of the Sadrist bloc.

Al-Sadr’s position comes after the Iraqi parliament failed for the third time in a row to hold a session to elect a new president for the country due to the intensification of the dispute between the Triple Alliance (the Sadrist bloc, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Alliance of Sovereignty), and the coordinating framework that includes Shiite political forces.

Last week, the coordination framework responded to al-Sadr’s deadline, and indicated that he is not at all concerned with setting time limits that will only prolong the political impasse and disrupt people’s interests.
