Informed sources revealed on Sunday that the State of Law Coalition has submitted four names as candidates for the Ministry of Interior portfolio in Ali al-Zaidi’s government.
The sources explained to Al-Maalouma that “the State of Law Coalition has indeed sent four names as candidates for the Ministry of Interior to the current Prime Minister, Ali al-Zaidi, for him to choose from,” indicating that “the coalition remains committed to its entitlement to the Ministry of Interior, which falls under its electoral mandate, and the submission of these names confirms this stance.”
They added that “Qasim Atta is among the most prominent names,” noting that “the coming period will determine the direction regarding which of the candidates will be chosen, but the final decision will remain with the Council of Representatives, especially since the total number of ministries that have not yet been decided is nine, including Interior, Defense, Planning, Culture, and Higher Education.”
They indicated that “the coming period will witness intensive discussions in this regard.”
