Salah Boushi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, affirmed on Sunday that the continuation of Ali al-Zaidi’s government for a full term depends on the extent to which its ministerial program is implemented.
Boushi told the Information Agency, “The survival of al-Zaidi’s government and its continuation for four years depends primarily on two levels: first, the actual implementation of its government program, and second, the degree of political support it enjoys from national forces.”
He added, “The country is going through a phase that requires stability and avoiding tensions,” calling on Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to “get closer to the center of national political decision-making and not succumb to the pressures and conflicts of parties and narrow interests.”
Observers believe that the coming period will reveal the government’s ability to achieve a balance between fulfilling its governmental commitments and containing political disputes, especially since the nature of the current political landscape may make the level of harmony and parliamentary support a decisive factor in ensuring the government’s stability and continuation until the end of its constitutional term.
