Salah Boushi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, affirmed on Saturday that the survival and continuation of Prime Minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi’s government depends primarily on its ability to address the current crises facing Iraq.
Boushi told the Information Agency, “The success of the designated government is linked to its seriousness in addressing the outstanding issues and providing tangible solutions to the crises,” indicating that “the public and political forces are awaiting what the next phase will produce.”
He added that “al-Zaidi’s government may witness changes in some ministerial portfolios during its first months in office,” noting that “this measure may come within the framework of evaluating performance and ensuring the efficient implementation of the government program.” Earlier, MP Mohammed al-Moussawi called on political forces and the Speaker of Parliament to hold a session to vote on the cabinet without any further delay, warning that the continued state of “anticipation” could negatively impact the Iraqi public’s aspirations for the fulfillment of service-related obligations.
