Legal expert reveals difficulties about holding early elections constitutionallySpecial- Mawazine News
, legal expert Tariq Harb, confirmed today, Sunday, that there are many difficulties that will face the constitutional elections.
Harb said in an interview with (Mawazine News), “The constitution stipulated in Article 64 the dissolution of the parliament to hold early elections within sixty days of the dissolution of the parliament.”
He pointed out that “there are two ways to dissolve first the dissolution of Parliament itself, and this needs the approval of 165 MPs, the majority of the members.
And Harb stated that “the second way to dissolve parliament is a proposal by the Prime Minister and the approval of the President of the Republic, knowing that the solution will entail new elections, a new president, and a new prime minister.”
The legal expert asked, “Will parliament vote to give confidence to Allawi and his cabinet, and will parliament agree to dissolve himself, or will the prime ministers and the Republic agree to dissolve the parliament with apparent difficulties and complications?”
