The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Uday Abdel-Hadi, confirmed on Sunday that the discounts for exporting oil to Jordan are sufficient to build 3,000 homes for citizens annually.
Abdul-Hadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma that “selling Iraqi oil to Jordan at huge financial discounts is a file that needs to be reviewed by the government,” wondering about “what are the reasons that drive Baghdad to lose billions of dinars annually because of an incomprehensible step?”
He added, “The volume of annual discounts is very high and is sufficient to build 3,000 housing units for citizens in Iraq,” stressing “the importance of reviewing economic relations with Jordan and stating the reasons for public opinion on the file of discounts that has been going on for many years.”
He pointed out that “Iraq’s economic situation is not conducive to donations and discounts in light of the difficult situation in which millions live.”
