The Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region announced on Sunday that the Federal Ministry of Finance had funded the salaries of public sector employees and workers in the region for the month of October.
The Federal Ministry of Finance deposited today, Sunday, an amount of (942,845,000,000) nine hundred and forty-two billion, eight hundred and forty-five million dinars into the bank account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy at the branch of the Central Bank of Iraq in Erbil, according to a statement issued by the Kurdistan Ministry of Finance.
The statement explained that this amount was allocated to fund the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan Region for the month of October.
On Monday, December 22, the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance deposited 120 billion dinars of non-oil revenues for the month of October into the account of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The ministry had announced on November 25 that it had delivered the payroll lists of the region’s employees to the federal government in Baghdad for the month of October.
The last salary paid by the federal government to employees and workers in the public sector in the region was on November 29, 2025, when an amount of 941 billion and 874 million dinars was deposited into the account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government at the Central Bank of Iraq in Erbil.
Under the agreement between Erbil and Baghdad, the Kurdistan Regional Government is required to hand over oil and non-oil revenues to Baghdad, while the federal government is obligated to provide the region with its financial entitlements, particularly salaries.
