The former Kurdish MP, Tafeka Ahmed, described, on Thursday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s talk about the majority and its demand to seize the presidency as unrealistic, indicating that the majority means granting all presidencies in Iraq to Shiite forces as they control Parliament.
Ahmed said in a televised interview, which was followed by “The Information”, that “the Shiite forces must take the positions of the three presidencies, as they are the majority,” noting that “the statements of the Democrat regarding the majority and its entitlement to the presidency are unrealistic.”
She added that “the agreements between the National and Democratic parties failed because of the positions after the elections, and that all deals between the two parties are taking place independently of the other Kurdish parties.”
Ahmed indicated that “the two Kurdish parties must sit at the dialogue table, as it is an important matter in the interest of the region,” noting that “the lack of consensus between the two Kurdish parties will negatively affect the interest of the Kurdish people.” Ended 25 D
