Kirkuk - Construction of a new pier to expedite the unloading of oil transported from BasraThe North Oil Company announced on Sunday the construction of a new berth as part of its storage expansion operations, which will expedite the process of unloading oil transported from Basra. Sarmad Mohammed, the director of the K1 oil station, told the official news agency that “the new expansion works at the K1 oil station, which are being carried out by the North Oil Company with its engineering staff, are almost completely finished. The completion rate for the construction of a new berth containing ten pumps has reached 90%.” He added that “the new pumps will expedite the process of unloading oil transported from the Basra fields and thus injecting it into the oil pipelines to the Turkish port of Ceyhan as part of the export process,” noting that “the development and increase of the pumps will raise the station’s unloading capacity.”

He added that “these works are part of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil’s plans to develop oil facilities, which will accelerate the export process.”
