Iraqi Oil Minister Bassem al-Abadi confirmed on Sunday that the crisis that Iraq went through during the previous period “has begun to crumble,” noting that the ministry continues to work on increasing crude oil production, raising export capacities, and supporting the national economy.

This came during his chairmanship of the crisis cell meeting to discuss crude oil and petroleum product production operations and export capacities, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.

The statement quoted the minister as saying during the meeting that “Iraq has gone through difficult circumstances in the past period, but the crisis has begun to subside,” noting that there are difficulties in the work.

He added that “the determination of the oil sector is the hope through which we can overcome this crisis, and work as one team.”

The Minister of Oil affirmed that the ministry is “taking confident steps to support the national economy by increasing production and raising export capacities,” noting that the ministry represents “the vital artery for supporting infrastructure and the economy.”
