The U.S. Energy Information Administration announced on Tuesday that Iraq’s crude oil exports to the United States have fallen by about half in one month.
The administration stated in a table seen by Shafaq News Agency that Iraq exported about 3.210 million barrels of crude oil to the United States during the month of March, compared to 6.448 million barrels during the previous month.
She added that the rate of Iraqi exports reached 109,000 barrels per day during the first week of April, then decreased to 48,000 barrels per day in the second week, before rising to 195,000 barrels per day in the third week, only to decline again to 76,000 barrels per day in the fourth week.
She explained that Iraq ranked sixth among the largest oil-exporting countries to the United States last month, after Canada, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia.
She indicated that Iraq came in second place among Arab countries in oil exports to the United States, after Saudi Arabia, whose exports amounted to 9.540 million barrels, while the United States did not import any quantities of Libyan crude oil during the same period.
