Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sunday showed a significant drop in U.S. imports of Iraqi crude oil last week, offset by a surge in supplies from Venezuela.
According to data seen by Shafaq News Agency, total US imports from nine major countries amounted to about 5.066 million barrels per day, a decrease of 170,000 barrels per day from the previous week.
The statistics showed that Iraq’s oil exports to the US market fell to 76,000 barrels per day, compared to 195,000 barrels in the previous week, placing Iraq eighth on the list of exporters.
Canada topped the list with 3.268 million barrels per day, followed by Venezuela, which increased its exports to 400,000 barrels, then Colombia with 348,000, Saudi Arabia with 332,000, and Mexico with 327,000 barrels per day.
The list also included Ecuador with 165,000, Nigeria with 93,000, and Brazil with 27,000 barrels, while imports from Libya remained at zero during the same period.
